Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and sound. Fill any cracks or holes, sand down rough areas, and remove any loose or flaking paint. For new or bare surfaces, a suitable primer may be required.
- Masking: Protect adjacent surfaces, skirting boards, door frames, and windows with painter's tape. Use dust sheets to cover furniture and flooring.
- Stirring: Stir the paint thoroughly before and periodically during application to ensure a consistent colour and smooth texture.
- Application: Apply the paint with a good quality roller or brush. For optimal coverage and finish, apply two coats, allowing sufficient drying time between each coat as specified on the product label.
Compatibility
This paint is specifically formulated for interior walls and ceilings. It is compatible with properly prepared plaster, plasterboard, and previously painted surfaces. For porous or bare surfaces, applying a suitable primer or basecoat will enhance adhesion and the final finish.
Care
- Cleaning: Thanks to its washable formulation, minor marks can be gently wiped away with a damp, soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Avoid harsh scrubbing or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the delicate velvet matt finish.
- Storage: Store the paint in its original container, tightly sealed, in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures (both heat and frost) and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
- Disposal: Do not pour unused paint down drains. Allow small amounts to dry out in the tin and dispose of them with general household waste. For larger quantities, consult your local council or recycling centre for proper disposal guidelines.
