Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt is specifically formulated for interior walls and ceilings. For trim and woodwork, it's best to use a paint designed for those surfaces, such as a Dulux Heritage Eggshell or Gloss paint, which offers different durability and finish properties.

Clean all painting tools immediately after use with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly until all paint residue is removed and allow them to dry completely before storing.

Once fully cured (typically several weeks after application), the velvet matt finish can be gently wiped clean with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh scrubbing or abrasive cleaners, as this can affect the delicate matt appearance.

While not always mandatory, using a suitable Dulux Heritage Primer & Undercoat is highly recommended. It helps achieve uniform absorption, better adhesion, and ensures the true depth of the Deep Ultramarine colour, especially on new plaster or significantly contrasting surfaces.

While it can technically be used, for high-moisture environments like bathrooms and kitchens, paints specifically formulated with enhanced durability and moisture resistance (e.g., Dulux Easycare Bathroom or Kitchen paints) are generally recommended to prevent issues like mould and mildew.

Ensure the surface is properly prepared (clean, smooth, primed). Apply paint evenly using a good quality roller and brush, maintaining a wet edge and avoiding over-brushing. Apply two thin, even coats rather than one thick coat.

Paint colour can be affected by lighting conditions (natural vs. artificial light) and surrounding colours. Always test a small, inconspicuous area first. Ensure full coverage with recommended coats for true colour depth.

This often indicates insufficient surface preparation or an unprimed, highly absorbent surface. Ensure walls are clean, dry, and primed appropriately. Apply the recommended number of coats, allowing sufficient drying time between each.
