Setup, Compatibility & Care
Surface Preparation
Proper preparation is crucial for achieving the best results with Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt Emulsion Paint.
- Clean: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, and grease.
- Smooth: Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate filler and sand smooth.
- Prime: For new plaster, porous surfaces, or when painting over a strong colour, apply a suitable primer or mist coat (diluted emulsion) first. This helps with adhesion and ensures an even finish.
- Stir: Before use, thoroughly stir the paint to ensure the pigments and clays are evenly distributed.
Application
- Apply with a good quality brush or roller.
- Apply even coats.
- > Info needed: [Number of coats recommended, drying time between coats]. Typically 2 coats are recommended for optimal colour depth and durability. Allow ample drying time between coats.
Compatibility
This paint is specifically formulated for interior walls and ceilings. Do not use on floors, furniture, or exterior surfaces. It is suitable for plaster, plasterboard, and previously painted surfaces in good condition.
Care & Maintenance
The washable nature of this paint means it's easy to maintain.
- Gently wipe any marks or dirt with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap (if necessary).
- Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners or scrubbing, as this can damage the matt finish.
- For best results, clean spills and marks promptly.
