Coverage is approximately 13m² per litre. Measure the height and width of your walls, calculate the total area, and subtract any window/door areas. Multiply the remaining area by the number of coats you plan to apply (usually two) and divide by 13 to estimate litres needed. Always buy slightly more to be safe.

While not always strictly necessary, a primer is highly recommended for new, bare, or porous surfaces, or when painting over very dark or contrasting colours. It helps with adhesion, provides a uniform base, and can improve the final finish and colour depth.

It is typically touch dry in 2-4 hours. You can apply a second coat after 4 hours. For the paint to fully harden and cure, allow at least 24 hours before light use or gentle cleaning.

Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt is formulated for walls and ceilings in general living areas. For high-humidity environments like bathrooms and kitchens, we recommend using a paint specifically designed for those areas, which offers enhanced mould and moisture resistance.

For minor marks, gently wipe the velvet matt surface with a soft, damp cloth using plain water. Avoid using abrasive sponges or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can damage the delicate matt finish. Always spot test in an inconspicuous area first.

For the best finish, use a high-quality synthetic brush for cutting in and a medium pile (around 9-12mm) roller for larger areas. This combination will help achieve a smooth, even, and streak-free velvet matt appearance.

Ensure proper surface preparation, including cleaning, filling, and priming. Apply paint evenly with a good quality roller or brush, avoiding overloading the tool. Ensure sufficient drying time between coats and apply two full coats.

The surface may not have been clean or dry enough, or a primer was needed. Thoroughly clean and dry the surface. Remove any loose paint, sand lightly, and re-prime before reapplying the paint.
