Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper setup, understanding compatibility, and routine care will ensure the longevity and beauty of your painted surfaces.
Setup: Surface Preparation
Thorough surface preparation is crucial for achieving the best results with this premium paint.
- Clean: Ensure walls are free from dirt, dust, grease, and loose material. Use a sugar soap solution if necessary, then rinse with clean water and allow to dry completely.
- Repair: Fill any cracks, holes, or imperfections with appropriate filler, then sand smooth. Wipe away any sanding dust.
- Prime: For new plaster, bare surfaces, or if painting over a dark or strong colour, apply a suitable primer or the Dulux Heritage Primer & Undercoat. This ensures optimal adhesion, consistent absorption, and true colour development.
Compatibility
- Primers: Compatible with standard water-based wall primers. For best results and full colour depth, use Dulux Heritage Primer & Undercoat.
- Other Paints: This paint is formulated for walls and ceilings. Do not mix with other paint types or finishes.
- Surfaces: Suitable for interior walls and ceilings, including plaster, plasterboard, and previously painted surfaces in good condition.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: The velvet matt finish can be wiped clean with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh scrubbing or abrasive cleaners, as these can burnish (make shiny) the matt surface and affect its appearance.
- Touch-ups: Keep a small amount of paint for future touch-ups to ensure colour consistency.
- Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Store paint in a frost-free environment.
