Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Wear Appropriate Socks: Start with your usual football socks to ensure the correct fit.
- Slide In: Gently slide your foot into the boot, ensuring the Dynamic Fit collar wraps comfortably around your ankle.
- Lace Up: Utilize the off-centre lace fastenings. Begin lacing from the bottom, pulling firmly but comfortably to secure your foot without excessive tightness. The off-centre design allows for a larger striking area, so ensure the fit is snug across your midfoot.
- Check Fit: Your toes should be close to the end of the boot without touching or feeling cramped. There should be minimal heel slippage.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Firm Ground (FG) pitches. This means they are optimal for natural grass fields that are dry to slightly wet. Using them on artificial turf (AG) or very wet/muddy soft ground (SG) may compromise performance, traction, and the longevity of the studs.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your Nike Phantom Luna II Academy boots:
- Clean After Each Use: Immediately after playing, knock off any loose dirt or grass. Use a soft brush or damp cloth to wipe down the synthetic and mesh upper.
- Stubborn Dirt: For more stubborn dirt, use a mild soap mixed with water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes that could damage the NikeSkin or synthetic materials.
- Rinse & Dry: Rinse off any soap residue with a clean, damp cloth. Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat (like radiators or hair dryers) as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Stuffing: You can stuff the boots with newspaper to help absorb moisture and maintain their shape during drying.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
- Refer to Product Label: For specific and detailed care instructions, always check the care label inside your boots.
