Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your new Nike Tiempo Legend 10 Academy MG boots may require a short break-in period. Wear them for a few light training sessions or walks before an intense match. This allows the FlyTouch Lite technical leather to conform to your foot's unique shape, maximizing comfort and preventing blisters.
Compatibility
These boots are designed for Multi-Ground (MG) use. This means they are suitable for:
- Natural Grass Pitches: Particularly those that are firm or slightly damp.
- Artificial Turf (AG) Pitches: Including both older and newer generation synthetic surfaces.
They are not ideally suited for extremely soft, muddy natural pitches (where SG - Soft Ground boots would be better) or very hard, dry natural pitches (where FG - Firm Ground boots are often preferred). Avoid using them on indoor courts or street surfaces, as this can damage the sole plate and studs.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Each Use: Immediately after playing, wipe off any mud or dirt from the upper and sole plate using a soft, damp cloth. A soft brush can help remove stubborn debris from between the studs.
- Drying: Remove any excess moisture by stuffing the boots with newspaper. Allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature. Never use direct heat sources like radiators or hair dryers, as this can damage the leather-like material and cause it to stiffen or crack.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. A boot bag can protect them from dust and scratches.
- Avoid Submerging: While the boots offer some water resistance, avoid fully submerging them in water, as this can affect the material and adhesives.
