Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure boots are laced snugly but not overly tight. Use an even lacing pattern to distribute pressure evenly across the top of your foot. A secure fit prevents unnecessary movement inside the boot and enhances control.
- Socks: Always wear your preferred football socks. Moisture-wicking socks can further enhance comfort and prevent rubbing, especially during the initial break-in period.
Compatibility
These boots feature an FG/MG soleplate, meaning they are primarily compatible with:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are dry and firm.
- Multi-Ground (MG): Modern artificial grass (AG) pitches.
They are not recommended for very soft, muddy natural grass (SG) or older, abrasive artificial turf (1G/2G) as using them on unsuitable surfaces can lead to reduced performance, potential injury, or premature wear and damage to the studs.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, gently wipe off dirt and mud with a damp cloth. For tougher grime, use a soft brush. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the leather.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators, heaters, or hairdryers, as this can cause the leather to dry out, stiffen, and crack. Stuffing the boots with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Using a breathable boot bag can help protect them from dust and damage.
- Conditioning: Periodically apply a high-quality leather conditioner specifically designed for football boots. This helps keep the leather supple, prevents cracking, and extends the lifespan of your footwear.
- Inspection: Regularly check the studs for excessive wear, damage, or breakage. Also, inspect laces and seams for any signs of fraying or weakening. Replace damaged components promptly to maintain optimal performance and safety.
