Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Initial Wear: When you first receive your Jadon boots, wear them around the house for short periods to begin the break-in process. This helps the leather soften and mold to your feet gradually.
- Lacing: Utilize the 8-eyelet lacing system to achieve a snug but comfortable fit. The laces should secure your foot without restricting circulation.
- Using the Zip: For convenience after the initial lacing, use the full-length inside zip for easy on and off access. There's no need to constantly re-tie the laces once your preferred tightness is set.
Compatibility
The Dr. Martens Jadon boots are highly versatile and complement a wide range of styles:
- Casual Wear: Pair with denim jeans, shorts, or leggings for an edgy everyday look.
- Dresses & Skirts: Adds a bold, counter-culture twist to more feminine outfits.
- Layered Looks: Ideal with oversized sweaters, jackets, and various outerwear for a complete aesthetic.
- Accessories: Complements punk, grunge, or alternative fashion accessories.
The black color with yellow accents makes them adaptable to many color palettes.
Care
The Polished Smooth leather requires specific care to maintain its appearance:
- Cleaning: Wipe off dirt and grime regularly with a damp cloth. For more stubborn marks, use Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam or a similar leather cleaner.
- Conditioning: Apply a small amount of Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam or a quality leather conditioner every few weeks or months, depending on wear. This helps to keep the leather supple and prevent drying or cracking.
- Polishing: To restore the high-shine finish, use Dr. Martens Shoe Polish (black for black boots) and buff with a clean brush or cloth. You can also choose to leave them unpolished for a more rugged, scuffed aesthetic.
- Protection: Consider using a water and stain repellent spray suitable for leather to provide an extra layer of protection against elements.
- Drying: If boots get wet, stuff them with newspaper and let them air dry naturally away from direct heat sources to prevent leather damage.
