Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting Started (Putting on the Boots)
- Unzip the Side Zipper: Fully open the side zipper on each boot.
- Loosen Laces (if needed): While the side zip makes entry easier, for the initial fit or if your child has wider feet, gently loosen the laces to create more room.
- Guide Foot In: Carefully guide your child's foot into the boot, ensuring their heel is seated properly at the back.
- Secure the Zip: Once the foot is comfortably in place, close the side zipper completely.
- Adjust Laces: Tighten the laces evenly for a snug, secure fit around the ankle and instep. Do not overtighten; ensure there is still room for natural foot movement.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for infants in UK children's size 8. Their robust yet flexible design makes them suitable for children who are crawling, cruising, or taking their first steps, offering essential foot support and protection.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe down the patent leather regularly with a *damp, soft cloth* to remove dirt and dust. For stubborn marks, use a specialized patent leather cleaner according to product instructions. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: If the boots get wet, stuff them lightly with newspaper and let them air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight.
- Conditioning: While patent leather is less porous than traditional leather, occasional polishing with a patent leather specific conditioner can help maintain its shine and prevent cracking.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place. Using shoe trees or stuffing with tissue paper can help maintain their shape when not in use for extended periods.
- Scuff Prevention: Patent leather can scuff. Encourage children to avoid dragging their feet or rubbing them against rough surfaces to minimize wear.
