Setup, Compatibility & Care
1. Surface Preparation is Key
- Clean: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from loose material, dirt, or organic growth (mould, algae). Use a stiff brush or power washer for thorough cleaning. For mould or algae, treat with a suitable fungicidal wash and rinse.
- Repair: Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate exterior filler and sand smooth once dry.
- Prime: For highly porous or powdery surfaces, apply a suitable masonry primer/sealer. New render or highly absorbent surfaces should also be primed to ensure even absorption and adhesion.
2. Application
- Stir: Stir the paint thoroughly before use to ensure an even consistency and colour.
- Apply: Apply with a brush or roller. For best results, apply two coats, allowing adequate drying time between coats (typically 2-4 hours, but check product label for specifics and weather conditions).
- Conditions: Avoid painting in direct sunlight, high winds, or when rain is expected. Ideal application temperature is between 10°C and 30°C.
3. Compatibility
- This paint is specifically designed for exterior masonry surfaces, including rendered walls, concrete, brickwork, and pebble-dash. It is not suitable for wood, metal, or interior surfaces.
4. Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: Due to its `Stay Clean` technology, routine cleaning will be minimal. If required, gentle washing with water and a soft brush can remove surface dust or light marks.
- Storage: Store paint in a dry, frost-free environment, away from direct sunlight. Ensure the lid is tightly sealed.
- Disposal: Dispose of unused paint responsibly at a local civic amenity site. Do not pour into drains.
