Setup, Compatibility & Care
First Use & Break-In
While Nappa Lux leather is softer, a short break-in period is still recommended. Wear the boots for short durations initially, gradually increasing wear time. Use thick socks to prevent chafing during this period. The Goodyear welted sole will also soften and mold to your stride.
Compatibility
These boots are a versatile wardrobe addition, compatible with various styles from punk and grunge to more contemporary fashion. Their black leather and classic design make them easy to integrate into most color palettes.
Care Instructions
To ensure your Dr. Martens Audrick boots last:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the Nappa Lux leather regularly with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. For deeper cleaning, use a dedicated leather cleaner suitable for nappa leather.
- Conditioning: Apply a high-quality leather conditioner designed for soft leathers every few months or as needed to keep the Nappa Lux supple and prevent drying or cracking. This helps maintain the leather's smooth finish.
- Protection: Consider using a leather protector spray to guard against water and stains, especially in inclement weather.
- Drying: If the boots get wet, allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, which can damage the leather.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally with boot trees to help maintain their shape.
