Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Nike Zoom Fly 6 shoes come ready to wear. For optimal performance and comfort, pay attention to lacing:
- Lacing Technique: Experiment with different lacing patterns to find the most secure and comfortable fit for your foot. A 'heel lock' lacing can help prevent heel slippage, which is crucial during fast running.
- Sock Choice: Wear appropriate running socks that wick moisture and prevent friction to complement the shoe's fit and minimize the risk of blisters.
Compatibility
- Running Surface: These shoes are specifically engineered for road running on paved surfaces, asphalt, and tracks. The thin rubber tread provides optimal grip and durability for these environments.
- Avoid: While durable, the Zoom Fly 6 is not designed for off-road trails, muddy paths, or highly abrasive surfaces which could compromise the thin outsole and upper materials.
Care
Proper care extends the life and performance of your shoes:
- Cleaning: Gently wipe dirt and grime off the upper with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap (if necessary). Avoid harsh chemicals or machine washing, which can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Air dry your shoes at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or tumble dryers, as this can deform the materials and midsole foam.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Remove insoles after particularly sweaty runs to allow for better air circulation and drying.
- Rotation: If you run frequently, consider rotating your Zoom Fly 6 with another pair of training shoes. This allows the foam to fully decompress and can extend the lifespan of both pairs.
