Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with Crown Crafted Flat Matt Paint is straightforward:
- Surface Preparation: Begin by ensuring all surfaces are clean, dry, free from dust, grease, or loose materials. Sand any rough areas and fill minor imperfections. For previously unpainted or porous surfaces, a suitable primer may be recommended for best adhesion and finish.
- Stirring: Open the tin carefully and stir the paint thoroughly with a stir stick. Continue to stir periodically during application to maintain a consistent color and texture.
- Tools: Have your brushes, rollers, and paint trays ready. Consider using painter's tape to protect trim and adjacent surfaces.
Compatibility
This paint is designed for specific applications:
- Interior Use Only: Suitable for indoor environments.
- Surfaces: Compatible with interior walls, ceilings, and wooden surfaces. Do not use on floors, exterior surfaces, or areas subject to high moisture/humidity unless specifically primed for such conditions.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care ensures longevity for your painted surfaces and tools:
- Cleaning Tools: Clean brushes and rollers immediately after use with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear.
- Spills and Splatters: Wipe up paint spills or splatters immediately with a damp cloth before they dry.
- Painted Surfaces: Due to its flat matt finish, painted surfaces are generally less resistant to heavy scrubbing. For marks, gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh scrubbing, as this can 'burnish' the flat finish, leaving shiny spots.
- Storage: Store the paint in its original container, tightly sealed, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and frost. Ensure the lid is secure to prevent the paint from drying out.
