Setup, Compatibility & Care
Surface Preparation
- Clean: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, grease, or loose material. Use a sugar soap solution for thorough cleaning, especially in kitchens.
- Fill: Fill any cracks or holes with appropriate filler and sand smooth.
- Prime: For bare or porous surfaces, or if painting over a dark colour, apply a suitable primer or a mist coat (paint thinned with 10-20% water) first.
- Sand: Lightly sand previously painted glossy surfaces to create a key for better adhesion.
Application
- Stir: Stir the paint thoroughly before use.
- Apply: Apply with a brush or roller. For best results, apply 2 coats.
- Drying Time: Allow adequate drying time between coats (typically 2-4 hours, but check product label for specifics).
- Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation during application and drying.
Compatibility
This paint is specifically formulated for interior kitchen walls and ceilings. While it offers superior performance in these high-traffic, high-moisture areas, it is not typically recommended for bathrooms (which often require specific bathroom paints) or exterior use. It is compatible with most common interior wall surfaces, including plaster, plasterboard, and previously painted surfaces, provided they are properly prepared.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: For everyday marks and splashes, simply wipe the affected area with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid harsh abrasives or scrubbing, which could damage the matt finish.
- Spot Cleaning: Address spills and stains promptly for easiest removal.
- Ventilation: Maintain good kitchen ventilation to reduce condensation and grease build-up, helping to preserve the paint's longevity.
