Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Nike Zoom Fly 6 shoes require minimal setup. Simply put them on, ensure a comfortable fit, and tie the laces securely. It's often beneficial to walk around in new running shoes for a day or two before your first run to allow them to conform to your feet.
Compatibility
- Running Surface: These shoes are optimized for road running (asphalt, concrete, track). The thin rubber outsole is designed for optimal grip on these surfaces.
- Foot Type: Suitable for a wide range of neutral runners. The carbon plate provides inherent stability.
- Activity: Ideal for training runs, tempo efforts, interval training, and road races.
Care Instructions
Proper care extends the life of your running shoes and maintains their performance:
- Cleaning the Upper: Gently wipe the woven mesh upper with a damp cloth and mild soap (if necessary). Avoid harsh detergents or scrubbing vigorously, which can damage the material.
- Cleaning the Outsole: Use a soft brush (like an old toothbrush) and water to remove dirt, mud, or debris from the rubber outsole. This helps maintain grip.
- Drying: Always air dry your shoes at room temperature, away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, which can degrade materials.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Do not wash your running shoes in a washing machine, as this can damage the foam, adhesives, and upper materials.
- Rotate Shoes: If you run frequently, consider rotating your Zoom Fly 6 with another pair of running shoes. This allows the foam to decompress and can extend the lifespan of both pairs.
