Johnstone's Washable Matt Paint - Red

Johnstone's Washable Matt Paint is quick-drying. Typically, it will be touch dry in 1-2 hours and can be recoated after 2-4 hours. However, full hardness and washability may take 7-14 days to achieve, so be gentle with cleaning during this period.

For optimal coverage and durability, we generally recommend applying two coats. For significant color changes or porous surfaces, a third coat or a suitable primer may be beneficial.

This washable matt emulsion is suitable for general walls and ceilings in kitchens and bathrooms, offering excellent durability against marks. However, for areas of very high condensation or direct water contact (e.g., inside a shower), a specialized kitchen and bathroom paint with enhanced mould resistance is recommended.

Once the paint has fully cured (allow 7-14 days), you can gently wipe away marks and spills with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbing to maintain the matt finish and color vibrancy.

A primer is not always necessary for surfaces already in good condition or previously painted with a similar emulsion. However, a primer is recommended for bare, new, or highly absorbent surfaces, or when significantly changing from a very dark to a very light color, to ensure optimal adhesion and a uniform finish.
