Product Information

Full details

The Elevate Baits Garlic Infusion Hookbaits are designed for serious specimen anglers targeting carp and barbel who rely on proven, natural attractants to trigger feeding responses. These dumbbell-shaped baits leverage 100% natural garlic oil and high-contrast squid ink coloration to stand out in various water conditions. While highly effective for attracting large fish, the intense scent profile requires careful storage to avoid transferring the odor to your other gear.

FAQs

Are these baits suitable for cold water fishing?

Yes, the natural garlic oil disperses effectively in lower temperatures, making it a great choice for year-round fishing.

Can these be used as bottom baits or pop-ups?

These are designed as bottom-hugging dumbbell hookbaits, providing a reliable sinking presentation.

Will the squid ink stain my hands?

As it contains real squid ink, it may leave a slight residue on your fingers; we recommend washing hands after handling or using a rig tool.

What species are these best for?

These are specifically formulated for carp and barbel, both of which are highly responsive to garlic-based attractants.

How long do they stay on the hair?

The baits are designed for durability and will remain firm on the hair for extended periods, even in waters with high crayfish or small fish activity.

Troubleshooting

Bait splitting during rigging

Ensure you are using a sharp, thin baiting needle and check that the bait is at room temperature before piercing.

Bait scent fading after long soak

The garlic oil is highly concentrated, but for sessions longer than 24 hours, consider 'boosting' the bait with a matching natural garlic dip or liquid attractor.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Proven, decades-tested garlic scent profile
High-visibility black color via squid ink
Unique dumbbell shape differentiates from standard round baits
Highly effective for targeting large carp and barbel

Cons

Strong, persistent garlic scent may require airtight storage
Dark color may be less effective in extremely dark, silted bottoms
Limited to one specific flavor/color profile

Setup, Compatibility & Care

These hookbaits are compatible with standard hair rig setups, including KD rigs or blow-back rigs, where the dumbbell shape allows for improved movement of the hook point. To ensure the bait maintains its structural integrity and scent potency, always keep the container sealed when not in use. Store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight to prevent the natural oils from breaking down. If you are using a baiting needle, do so carefully to avoid splitting the bait; though firm, the high-quality ingredients benefit from a standard diameter needle.
