Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setting up your August DVB482 is a straightforward process designed for quick integration into your home entertainment system.
Initial Setup
- Connect Antenna: Plug your coaxial aerial cable into the `Coaxial Antenna In` port on the back of the DVB482.
- Connect to TV: Use the included HDMI cable to connect the DVB482's `HDMI Out` port to an available HDMI input on your television. If you have an older TV, use a SCART cable to connect the `TV SCART Port` instead.
- Power On: Connect the included mains power adaptor to the `DC IN` port on the DVB482, then plug it into a wall socket.
- First-Time Installation: Follow the on-screen instructions. The device will automatically scan for available Freeview channels. This process may take a few minutes.
- USB Storage (for recording): For recording functionality, plug a formatted USB stick or external hard drive into the `USB 2.0 Port`.
Compatibility
- TVs: Compatible with any television featuring an HDMI input or a SCART input.
- Antenna: Requires a standard DVB-T/T2 compatible aerial for Freeview signal reception.
- USB Storage: Supports USB 2.0 devices. For optimal recording performance, use a reliable USB drive with sufficient storage capacity (e.g., 32GB or more for extended recording).
Product Care
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ventilation: Ensure the DVB482 is placed in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture. Do not block the ventilation openings.
- Remote Control: Keep the remote clean and dry. Replace batteries with the correct type when needed.
- Cables: Ensure all cables are securely connected and free from kinks or damage.
