Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper setup, understanding compatibility, and consistent care will ensure your Neff Ceramic Hob performs optimally and lasts for years.
Setup & Installation
The Neff T16NBE1L N50 Ceramic Hob is designed for seamless integration into your kitchen worktop.
- Dimensions: The hob itself measures 45 mm (Height) x 592 mm (Width) x 522 mm (Depth).
- Niche Requirements: For installation, a specific niche size is required: 45 mm (Height) x 560 mm (Width) x (490 - 500) mm (Depth). It is crucial that these dimensions are met for a secure fit.
- Worktop Thickness: The minimum worktop thickness required is 16 mm.
- Electrical Connection: The hob has a connected load of 6.6 KW. Due to its power requirements, professional installation by a qualified electrician is highly recommended to ensure correct wiring and safety compliance.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the installed hob as per the installation manual.
Compatibility
This frameless black ceramic hob is designed to complement a wide range of modern kitchen aesthetics. Its sleek design integrates flush with your worktop for a clean, minimalist look. It is compatible with all types of flat-bottomed cookware suitable for electric hobs (e.g., stainless steel, cast iron, ceramic, glass).
Care & Maintenance
Keeping your ceramic hob clean and well-maintained is straightforward:
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, once the residual heat indicator has turned off and the surface is cool, wipe the ceramic glass with a soft cloth and a specialized ceramic hob cleaner or warm soapy water. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth to prevent water marks.
- Stubborn Stains: For burnt-on food or stubborn stains, use a ceramic hob scraper (available at most hardware stores) at a shallow angle. Always follow with a cleaning agent and wipe clean.
- Avoid Scratches: Do not drag pots or pans across the surface. Lift them to move. Avoid using abrasive sponges, scourers, or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can damage the ceramic glass.
- Spills: Wipe up spills, especially sugary liquids, immediately (if safe to do so) to prevent them from burning onto the surface and causing damage.
- Residual Heat Indicators: Pay attention to the 2-stage residual heat indicators. They show when a cooking zone is still hot, even after being switched off. This is a safety feature and can also be used to keep food warm.
