Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Installation of this hob should ideally be performed by a qualified professional to ensure it is correctly integrated into your kitchen counter and connected to the power supply according to local regulations. AEG's OptiFix design aims to simplify this process.
Compatibility: This ceramic hob is compatible with most flat-bottomed cookware, including stainless steel, cast iron (enameled), and aluminum pots and pans. Avoid cookware with warped or rough bases that could scratch the surface.
Care: To maintain the hob's appearance and performance:
- Daily Cleaning: After the hob has cooled completely, wipe the surface with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. For stubborn residue, use a specialized ceramic hob cleaner.
- Avoid Abrasives: Never use abrasive scouring pads, steel wool, or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can permanently damage the glass surface.
- Spills: Wipe up spills, especially sugary ones, immediately once the surface is cool enough to touch. Sugar can be difficult to remove once baked on.
- Cookware Care: Ensure the bases of your pots and pans are clean and dry before placing them on the hob.
