Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unboxing: Remove your new Brodin Mid boots from the packaging.
- Lacing: Loosen the laces, insert your foot, and then tighten the laces to achieve a snug, comfortable fit. Ensure they are not too tight, which can restrict circulation, or too loose, which can cause rubbing.
- First Wear: Wear them for short periods initially to allow the leather to break in and mold to the unique shape of your foot.
Compatibility
The Brodin Mid boots are highly versatile for casual styling:
- Everyday Casual: Pair them with jeans, cargo pants, or chinos for a relaxed, put-together look.
- Autumn/Winter: Their high-top design and leather construction make them suitable for cooler weather, complementing sweaters and jackets.
- Travel: Their comfort features make them an excellent choice for walking and exploring during travel.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your beeswax leather boots:
- Cleaning: Gently brush off any loose dirt or dust with a soft brush (a dedicated shoe brush is ideal). For more stubborn dirt, use a damp cloth with a small amount of mild soap, then wipe clean.
- Conditioning: Apply a high-quality leather conditioner or beeswax leather specific product regularly (e.g., every 1-2 months, depending on wear). This keeps the leather supple and prevents drying or cracking.
- Protection: Consider applying a water and stain protector specifically designed for leather. This creates a barrier against moisture and spills.
- Drying: If your boots get wet, allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, which can damage the leather.
- Storage: When not in use, store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally with shoe trees to help maintain their shape.
