Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Nike Metcon 9 is straightforward:
- Lacing: Unlace the shoes sufficiently to easily slide your foot in. Ensure your heel is seated comfortably at the back of the shoe.
- Adjust Fit: Begin lacing from the bottom eyelets, pulling snugly but not too tightly. Work your way up, ensuring even tension across the top of your foot. Experiment with different lacing techniques to find the most comfortable and secure fit for your specific foot shape and activity.
- Break-in Period: Like most specialized training shoes, the Metcon 9 may require a short break-in period. Wear them for lighter workouts initially to allow the materials to conform to your foot.
Compatibility
- Workouts: The Nike Metcon 9 is optimized for strength training, CrossFit, weightlifting, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and general gym workouts. It's designed to perform best during activities that require stability, support, and durability.
- Surfaces: Ideal for indoor gym floors, weightlifting platforms, and synthetic turf.
Care
Proper care extends the life and maintains the performance of your Metcon 9 shoes:
- Cleaning: For routine cleaning, wipe down the upper with a damp cloth and mild soap. For tougher dirt on the sole, use a soft brush. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Air dry your shoes at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or tumble dryers, as this can damage materials.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using shoe trees to help maintain their shape if storing for extended periods.
- Odour Control: If odors develop, remove insoles and allow them to air out. You can also use shoe deodorizers or sprinkle baking soda inside the shoes (remove before wearing).
