Getting the most out of your On Running Cloudvista 2 shoes involves proper initial setup, understanding compatibility, and consistent care.
Setup
- Lacing: Utilize the traditional lace-up system to achieve a secure yet comfortable fit. Experiment with different lacing techniques to find what best suits your foot shape and running style. Ensure the laces are snug enough to prevent your foot from sliding but not so tight as to cause pressure points or discomfort.
- Initial Wear: Wear the shoes for short periods initially to allow your feet to adapt to the fit and cushioning, especially if you are new to On Running's higher stack height or Speedboard technology.
Compatibility
- Socks: Pair your Cloudvista 2 with technical running socks designed to wick away moisture and prevent blisters. The breathable mesh upper works best with socks that complement its ventilation properties.
- Orthotics: The standard insoles are removable, allowing for the use of custom orthotics if needed. Ensure any orthotics fit correctly without compromising the shoe's internal volume or comfort.
- Terrain: Best suited for light to moderate trails, gravel roads, and mixed road-to-trail routes. While the Missiongrip outsole provides good traction, it may not be optimized for extremely muddy, highly technical, or rock-climbing-like terrains.
Care
- Cleaning: After runs on dirty or muddy trails, gently brush off loose dirt. For deeper cleaning, use a soft brush or cloth with mild soap and cold water. Avoid harsh detergents or hot water, as these can damage materials.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them in direct sunlight or use artificial heat sources (like a dryer or radiator), as this can degrade the midsole foam and upper materials.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Ensure they are completely dry before storing to prevent odor and mildew.
- Avoid Submersion: While the shoes can handle wet conditions, avoid prolonged submersion in water as this can compromise material integrity and comfort.
