FAQs

Can I use pre-ground coffee?

This model is primarily designed for use with the integrated burr grinder for the best results, though you should refer to your specific manual for bypass chute compatibility.

How often should I descale the machine?

Descaling frequency depends on your local water hardness; typically, once every 3 to 6 months is recommended to prevent mineral buildup.

Is the grinder adjustable?

Yes, the Barista Assist technology manages the grind, but you can adjust settings to suit your preferred extraction profile.

What is the pressure rating of this machine?

The Ninja Luxe Café MINI Plus operates at 9-bar pressure, which is the industry standard for balanced espresso extraction.

Can I make iced coffee?

Yes, you can extract espresso over ice to create the base for iced lattes or Americanos.

Troubleshooting

Coffee extraction is too slow or dripping

The grind size may be too fine. Adjust the integrated grinder to a slightly coarser setting.

Milk not foaming properly

Ensure the steam wand tip is clean and submerged at the correct angle. Use fresh, cold milk.

Machine alerts for low water

Refill the 1.4-litre reservoir; the machine will not operate if the water level is below the minimum sensor.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Integrated precision scale and burr grinder
Switchable between espresso and filter coffee
Barista Assist simplifies the dialing-in process
Professional manual steam wand for milk texturing
Dishwasher-safe parts for easy cleaning

Cons

Small 1.4-litre water tank
Requires manual intervention for milk steaming
Less flexibility for advanced users who prefer manual grind adjustments

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up your machine, place it on a level surface and perform an initial rinse cycle by running water through the group head without coffee grounds. Ensure the water reservoir is seated correctly before operation. For daily maintenance, rinse the steam wand immediately after use to prevent milk buildup. The portafilter, basket, and removable drip tray are dishwasher-safe, making cleanup simple. Periodically wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and ensure the burr grinder is cleaned of residual oils every few weeks to maintain the freshness of your coffee.
