FAQs

Can I use pre-ground coffee in this machine?

The Ninja Luxe Café MINI is designed primarily for use with fresh beans through the built-in grinder for optimal flavor.

Is the water reservoir removable?

Yes, the 1.3L water reservoir is removable for easy filling and cleaning.

How do I know which temperature setting to choose?

Use the lower temperature setting for darker roasts to prevent bitterness, and higher settings for lighter roasts to extract more sweetness.

Are the parts dishwasher safe?

Yes, the removable parts, including the drip tray and various filter baskets, are dishwasher safe.

Does this machine have an auto-shutoff feature?

Yes, for safety and energy efficiency, the machine features an automatic power-off function after a period of inactivity.

Troubleshooting

Coffee extraction is too slow or dripping.

The grind size may be too fine. Adjust the grinder to a slightly coarser setting.

Milk is not frothing correctly.

Ensure the steam wand tip is clean and clear of dried milk residue. Check that you are using cold, fresh milk.

Machine will not start brewing.

Check that the water reservoir is properly seated and filled above the minimum line, and ensure the portafilter is locked firmly in place.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly more compact than standard espresso machines
Barista Assist removes the guesswork from grinding and extraction
Highly versatile with 3 strength and 3 temperature settings
Easy to maintain with dishwasher-safe components
Includes essential accessories like a stainless steel milk jug

Cons

Steam wand requires manual operation, unlike fully-automatic systems
1.3L water reservoir may need frequent refilling for high-volume households
Steeper learning curve for those new to manual milk steaming

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup

Place the machine on a flat, dry surface with enough clearance for the bean hopper lid. Rinse the 1.3L water reservoir before first use and perform a cleaning cycle as directed in the user manual to flush the internal system.

Compatibility

Ensure you are using fresh, high-quality coffee beans. While the machine is designed for versatility, it is best to avoid overly oily beans, which can occasionally clog internal grinding mechanisms.

Care

Daily maintenance is straightforward. After each use, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth and purge it by running a short burst of steam. The drip tray and portafilter components are dishwasher-safe, which simplifies deep cleaning. Periodically check the grinder chute for any accumulated coffee dust to maintain peak performance.
