Setup, Compatibility & Care
Proper setup and care will ensure your Karrimor Mount Waterproof Walking Shoes provide lasting performance and comfort.
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure laces are threaded correctly and evenly through all eyelets. When trying them on, wear hiking socks and lace them snugly but not overly tight. This allows for a secure fit without restricting circulation.
- Fit Check: Walk around indoors to assess comfort. Your toes should not touch the front of the shoe, and your heel should not slip excessively. Adjust lacing as needed to achieve a comfortable and secure feel.
Compatibility
- Activities: Best suited for walking, hiking, trail walking, and general outdoor use on varied terrains.
- Socks: Pair with moisture-wicking hiking socks for optimal comfort and to enhance the shoe's breathable properties. Avoid cotton socks, as they retain moisture.
- Terrain: Designed for varied terrains, from groomed trails to slightly rugged paths. Not intended for extreme mountaineering or highly technical climbing.
Care
- Cleaning: After each use, remove loose dirt and debris with a soft brush or cloth. For stubborn mud, allow it to dry and then gently brush off. Wipe surfaces with a damp cloth if necessary. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: If your shoes get wet, remove the insoles and stuff the shoes loosely with newspaper to absorb moisture. Air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area, away from direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight), which can damage materials.
- Waterproofing Maintenance: Periodically re-treat the suede/textile upper with a suitable water-repellent spray specifically designed for breathable waterproof footwear. This will maintain the external DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish and prevent the outer material from soaking up water.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area when not in use. Avoid storing them in direct sunlight or damp environments.
