Setup:
- Lacing: Ensure laces are threaded evenly and tied securely, but not too tightly, to prevent pressure points. Experiment with different lacing techniques to find the best fit for your foot.
- Socks: Wear appropriate hiking socks (wool or synthetic blends) to enhance comfort, manage moisture, and prevent blisters.
Compatibility:
These shoes are designed for general hiking and trail use. They are compatible with various terrains, including dirt paths, rocky trails, moderate inclines, and muddy conditions. They pair well with lightweight to medium-weight hiking gear.
Care:
- Cleaning: After each use, brush off loose dirt with a soft brush. For more stubborn dirt, use lukewarm water and a small amount of GORE-TEX-approved footwear cleaner or mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can damage the materials, especially the leather and GORE-TEX membrane. You can stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Waterproofing: Periodically re-treat the outer leather with a GORE-TEX-approved waterproofing treatment, especially after extensive use or cleaning, to maintain water repellency.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
