While the GORE-TEX® provides excellent waterproofing, the Moab 3 is primarily designed as an all-season hiking boot. For deep snow or very cold conditions, consider adding insulated socks or looking for a boot with more specific winter insulation.

There should be about a finger's width of space between your longest toe and the front of the boot when standing. Your heel should remain relatively stable with minimal lift when you walk. Try them on with the socks you typically hike in.

The Moab 3 GORE-TEX® typically features a cemented construction, meaning the outsole is glued to the midsole. Resoling is generally not a feasible or cost-effective option for this type of construction.

The GORE-TEX® membrane itself is very durable. With proper care and cleaning, the waterproof and breathable properties can last for the lifespan of the boot. However, abrasions or damage to the outer materials can compromise waterproofing.

These boots are waterproof due to the integrated GORE-TEX® membrane, meaning they are designed to keep water out effectively while still allowing moisture vapor to escape.

The Moab 3 builds upon previous iterations with updated materials, improved cushioning, and enhanced traction, while retaining the core comfort and durability that made the Moab series legendary. Specific updates often include midsole foam and outsole compound enhancements.

Ensure the GORE-TEX® membrane is intact. Water can enter if there are tears or damage. Also, check that your socks are not the source of moisture, and that the tongue gussets are properly sealed.

Clean the outsole of mud, debris, or ice, as these can impede grip. Ensure the tread is not excessively worn down. For very slick conditions, consider using microspikes.

Ensure the boots are properly laced and that you are wearing appropriate hiking socks. If discomfort persists, the boot may not be the right fit for your foot shape, and trying a different size or model might be necessary.

Replace worn laces with durable, high-quality hiking laces. Ensure the eyelets are free of sharp edges that could fray the laces.
