Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Loosen the laces sufficiently to allow your foot to slide comfortably into the boot, especially with the high-cut collar. Gently pull the tongue and collar open.
- Fitting: Slide your foot in. Ensure your heel is seated firmly at the back of the boot and your toes have just enough room without touching the very front. The new shoe frame is designed for a natural fit, especially in the toe box.
- Tightening: Begin tightening the laces from the bottom eyelets, working your way up. Ensure an even, snug fit across your foot, avoiding excessive tightness that could restrict circulation or cause discomfort. Securely tie a knot.
- Break-In: Like all performance footwear, these boots may require a short break-in period. Wear them for lighter training sessions initially to allow the materials to conform to your foot shape.
Compatibility
These Nike Phantom 6 Academy boots feature a Multi-Ground (FG/MG) soleplate, making them highly versatile for:
- Firm Ground (FG): Natural grass pitches that are firm but not overly dry.
- Artificial Grass (MG): Modern synthetic turf fields.
Avoid using these boots on extremely hard ground, concrete, indoor courts, or very wet/muddy natural grass, as this can damage the soleplate and compromise traction.
Care
- Cleaning After Use: After each use, remove any loose dirt and mud by gently tapping the boots together. Use a soft brush (like a toothbrush) or a damp cloth to clean the upper and soleplate. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct sunlight or use artificial heat sources (like radiators or hairdryers), as this can damage the materials and cause them to crack or shrink.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, remove the insoles and air them out. You can use shoe deodorizers or baking soda sprinkled inside the boots (remove before next use) to help absorb moisture and odors.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Using shoe trees or crumpled newspaper can help maintain their shape when not in use.
