Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup & First Use
The Nike Metcon 9 shoes require no special setup. Simply unbox and lace them up to your preferred fit. For the best experience, ensure laces are snug but not overtight, allowing for natural foot movement without excessive pressure points.
Compatibility
These shoes are primarily designed for:
- High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
- Weightlifting (Powerlifting, Olympic Lifting)
- Cross-training workouts
- Gym-based fitness classes
- Rope climbing
- Short commutes to the gym
They are suitable for adult female athletes. While they offer good general traction, they are not optimized for long-distance running or specialized sports like basketball or soccer, which require different performance characteristics.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care extends the life and performance of your Metcon 9 shoes:
- Cleaning: Remove loose dirt with a soft brush (like an old toothbrush). For tougher stains, gently wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or tumble dryers, as this can damage materials. Stuffing with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Odor Control: If odors develop, remove insoles and air out shoes. Odor-absorbing inserts can also be used.
- Inspection: Regularly check the tread for wear and tear, especially the gripper rubber. Replace shoes when tread is significantly worn to maintain optimal traction and safety.
