Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Nike Metcon 9 shoes is straightforward.
- Lacing: Ensure the laces are securely and evenly tightened to achieve a snug fit without being overly restrictive. This provides optimal foot stability during dynamic movements.
- Break-in Period: For initial comfort, wear your new Metcon 9s for lighter activities or shorter workouts before engaging in full-intensity training sessions. This allows the materials to conform to your foot shape.
Compatibility
The Nike Metcon 9 is primarily compatible with:
- Functional Fitness & CrossFit: Ideal for varied, high-intensity workouts including weightlifting, gymnastics, and metabolic conditioning.
- Weightlifting & Powerlifting: Provides the stability and ground contact needed for heavy lifts.
- Gym Training: Suitable for general gym sessions, strength training, and bodyweight exercises.
- Surface Compatibility: Designed for indoor gym floors, rubberized training areas, and outdoor urban training surfaces.
Care
To ensure the longevity and performance of your Nike Metcon 9 shoes:
- Remove any loose dirt or debris with a soft brush (e.g., an old toothbrush) or a dry cloth.
- Mix a small amount of mild soap (like dish soap) with warm water.
- Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the soapy water, wring out excess liquid, and gently wipe down the upper and sole.
- For stubborn marks on the rubber outsole, a slightly stiffer brush can be used.
- Wipe away any soap residue with a clean, damp cloth.
- Allow the shoes to air dry at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight or extremely hot environments, which can degrade materials.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Do not machine wash or machine dry your Metcon 9s, as this can damage the materials and construction.
