Product Information

Full details

The Caecus Blinds Blackout Roller Blind is an ideal solution for homeowners and renters seeking total light blockage, enhanced privacy, and improved thermal insulation in bedrooms or media rooms. Crafted from durable polyester with a high-performance 3-pass blackout lining, this blind effectively blocks sunlight and helps regulate room temperature. While it provides excellent light control, keep in mind that the total width measurement includes the mounting hardware, so the actual fabric width is slightly narrower than the stated product size.

FAQs

Does the stated width include the brackets?

Yes, the stated width is the total measurement including the mounting fittings.

Can I trim these blinds myself?

Yes, they can be trimmed at home to fit your specific window dimensions if necessary.

Are these blinds suitable for bathrooms?

The polyester fabric is easy to clean, but ensure good ventilation to prevent moisture from affecting the lining.

What tools do I need for installation?

You will need a drill to secure the brackets and a measuring tape to ensure accurate placement.

Can these be mounted on the ceiling?

Yes, the provided brackets support top-fix installation, making them suitable for ceiling mounting.

How do I ensure a complete blackout?

We recommend mounting the blinds outside the window recess with a sufficient overlap on both sides.

Troubleshooting

The blind hangs unevenly

Check that the mounting brackets are perfectly level on both sides using a spirit level.

The blind is too wide for the window frame

Use a sharp utility knife or saw to carefully trim the roller tube and fabric to the exact measurement required.

Light is leaking from the sides

If mounted inside the recess, consider re-mounting outside the recess with a wider overlap to cover the light gaps.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Complete light blockage for maximum privacy
Thermal lining assists with room temperature regulation
Quick and straightforward installation process
Easy to clean with a simple damp cloth
Flexible mounting options for various window types

Cons

Fabric width is narrower than total stated hardware width
Requires a drill for installation
Trimming requires manual labor and precision tools

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Installation requires a drill, a measuring tape, and a pencil. Determine your desired mounting style: 'Inside' for a clean, flush look within the window reveal, or 'Outside' for maximum blackout coverage. Secure the brackets using the included hardware, then click the roller tube into place.

To clean your blinds, simply wipe the polyester fabric with a slightly damp cloth to remove dust or light stains. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, as these may damage the blackout coating. Ensure the blind is fully dry before rolling it up to prevent moisture buildup within the fabric layers.
