Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Nike Pegasus Trail 5 shoes is straightforward:
- Lacing: Loosen the laces, slide your foot in, and ensure your heel is comfortably seated. The Flywire system is integrated with the laces; tighten them for a snug, secure fit around your midfoot, especially before hitting uneven trails.
- Fit Check: Ensure there's a thumb's width of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe, and that your heel feels secure without slipping.
Compatibility
- Terrain: Designed for versatility, compatible with light-to-moderate trails, gravel paths, dirt roads, and paved surfaces. Not specifically engineered for extreme mountain or highly technical, rocky terrains.
- Runner Type: Suitable for neutral runners. Its cushioning is beneficial for various distances.
- Usage: Ideal for daily training, mixed-terrain runs, and casual wear.
Care
Proper care extends the life of your running shoes:
- Cleaning: After muddy runs, gently brush off loose dirt. Use a soft brush or cloth with mild soap and lukewarm water to clean the upper and outsole. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Always air dry your shoes at room temperature. Do not put them in a dryer or expose them to direct heat, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid storing them in plastic bags as this can trap moisture.
- Insoles: Remove insoles occasionally to allow them to air out and dry completely.
