Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Lacing: Before your first run, ensure the Flywire lacing system is snug. Adjust the laces evenly to achieve a secure, locked-in feel around your midfoot without being overly tight. This is crucial for stability on uneven ground.
- Fit Check: Wear your usual running socks and walk around in the shoes. Check for any pressure points or excessive movement. Your toes should have room to wiggle, but your heel should feel secure.
Compatibility
The Nike Pegasus Trail 5 is specifically designed for mixed-terrain running. It's compatible with:
- Trails: Muddy paths, gravel tracks, light technical trails.
- Roads: Pavement, sidewalks, urban environments.
- Weather: The durable mesh upper offers protection, but it is not waterproof.
Care Instructions
Proper care extends the life and performance of your running shoes:
- Cleaning: After runs, especially on muddy trails, remove loose dirt by gently brushing the shoes. For deeper cleaning, hand wash with mild soap and cold water. Use a soft brush or cloth to clean the mesh upper and outsole.
- Drying: Always air dry your shoes at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight or using artificial heat sources (like radiators or dryers), as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid storing them in damp environments to prevent odor and mildew.
- Insoles: Remove insoles occasionally to air them out, which helps prevent odor buildup. If needed, hand wash insoles separately with mild soap.
