Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt Emulsion Paint - Stone Green

This paint is specifically formulated for interior walls and ceilings. It can be applied to suitably prepared plaster, plasterboard, and previously painted surfaces.

For optimal color depth and to achieve the signature velvet matt finish, we recommend applying two coats. In some cases, such as painting over a very dark or uneven color, a third coat or a tinted primer might be beneficial.

Due to the delicate nature of a matt finish, gently wipe any marks with a soft, damp cloth using plain water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or vigorous scrubbing, as this can cause shiny spots (burnishing) on the surface.

While not always mandatory, a primer is highly recommended for new plaster, bare surfaces, or very porous walls. This ensures even absorption, promotes better adhesion, and helps achieve a more consistent and flawless finish. A mist coat (diluted paint) can also be used on new plaster.

Typically, you should allow 2-4 hours drying time between coats. Always refer to the specific instructions provided on the paint can for precise drying times, as this can vary depending on temperature, humidity, and ventilation.

For the best finish, use a good quality synthetic brush for cutting in edges and a medium pile (e.g., 9-12mm) roller for larger wall areas. This combination helps achieve an even application and a smooth, consistent finish.

Stone Green is described as a mid, grey/green, making it a versatile colored neutral. Its muted tones can lean slightly cool, especially in northern light, but the green undertones can offer warmth in different lighting conditions, providing balance.

Ensure consistent application pressure and avoid overloading brushes or rollers. Always allow proper drying time between coats. On highly absorbent surfaces, applying a primer or mist coat first can help achieve a more even finish.

This issue typically indicates insufficient surface preparation. Ensure all surfaces are thoroughly clean, dry, and free of any loose material, old paint, or dust before painting. Scrape off loose paint, sand the area smooth, and re-prime before applying new paint.

Color perception can be significantly affected by lighting conditions and surrounding colors. Always allow the paint to fully dry, as wet paint often looks different. It's highly recommended to test a small, inconspicuous area first and observe it under various lighting conditions.
