Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your adidas Copa Pure III Elite SG boots perform optimally and last longer, follow these guidelines.
Initial Setup (Break-in)
- Wear-in Gradually: Like all leather boots, these will benefit from a break-in period. Wear them for short training sessions initially (30-60 minutes) before playing a full match.
- Lacing Adjustment: Experiment with the extended lacing system to find your preferred snugness. A customized fit enhances comfort and ball feel.
Compatibility
- Surface: These boots are designed exclusively for soft ground (SG). This means natural grass pitches that are often wet, muddy, or have deeper turf. The longer, often metal-tipped studs are specifically for penetrating these surfaces for optimal grip.
- Avoid Other Surfaces: Using SG boots on firm ground (FG), artificial grass (AG), or indoor courts will damage the studs, reduce performance, and can increase the risk of injury.
Care and Maintenance
- Immediate Cleaning: After each use, remove excess mud and debris from the upper and soleplate using a soft brush or damp cloth. Clean the studs thoroughly.
- Drying: Stuff the boots with newspaper or paper towels to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or artificial heat sources (e.g., radiators), which can dry out and crack the leather.
- Leather Conditioning: Periodically apply a leather conditioner specifically designed for football boots to keep the leather soft, supple, and prevent cracking.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place. Using a boot bag can protect them from scratches and dust.
