Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Adjusting the Strap: Before wearing, open the metal buckle on the strap.
- Slide Foot In: Place your foot into the clog, ensuring your heel sits comfortably in the heel cup and your toes have space in front of the toe bar.
- Secure the Strap: Fasten the strap so it's snug, but not constricting. You should be able to slide a finger easily underneath the strap. This adjustment ensures proper foot placement and prevents excessive slipping.
- Break-in Period: Wear your Bostons for short periods initially (1-2 hours a day) to allow the cork-latex footbed to mold to your unique foot shape. This process is essential for achieving maximum comfort and support.
Compatibility:
The Birkenstock Boston Clogs are designed for unisex wear and are suitable for adults. They are ideal for individuals seeking supportive, comfortable footwear for a wide range of casual activities.
Care:
- Cleaning the Upper: For oiled nubuck leather, gently brush off dirt with a soft brush (a suede brush works well). For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth and a specialized leather cleaner designed for oiled leather, following product instructions. Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive water.
- Cleaning the Footbed: Wipe the suede footbed lining with a damp cloth. For more stubborn marks or odors, use a mild soap solution or a specialized footbed cleaner. Allow to air dry completely away from direct heat.
- Protecting the Cork: The cork edges can be protected with a thin layer of cork sealant periodically to prevent drying out or cracking.
- Storage: Store your clogs in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Avoid prolonged exposure to water.
- Avoid Washing Machine: Never put your Birkenstocks in a washing machine or submerge them in water.
