Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure optimal performance and longevity from your On Cloudmonster Void Trainers, proper setup, compatibility, and care are essential.
Setup:
- Lacing: Begin by finding a lacing technique that provides a snug but comfortable fit. Avoid overtightening, which can restrict circulation, or leaving them too loose, which can lead to instability. Experiment with different lacing patterns if you experience pressure points.
- Initial Wear: Wear your new trainers for short periods initially to allow them to conform to your feet. A short break-in period can enhance comfort.
Compatibility:
- Socks: Pair with high-quality, moisture-wicking running socks to prevent blisters and manage sweat. Avoid cotton socks, which retain moisture.
- Orthotics: If you use custom orthotics, the Cloudmonster Void trainers generally accommodate them well. Simply remove the factory insole before inserting your custom orthotics.
Care:
- Cleaning: After runs, gently brush off any loose dirt or mud. For deeper cleaning, hand wash your trainers using a mild soap (like dish soap) and cold water. Use a soft brush or cloth to gently scrub the mesh and sole. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Drying: Allow your trainers to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not place them in a washing machine, tumble dryer, or near direct heat sources (like radiators or direct sunlight), as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your trainers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid prolonged storage in damp or hot environments, which can degrade materials.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Machine washing can damage the delicate cushioning and bonding agents in your shoes, significantly shortening their lifespan.
