The Kånken backpack is made from Vinylon fabric, which is highly water-resistant and swells when damp, making it denser and more resistant to moisture. However, it is not fully waterproof. For heavy rain, we recommend using a rain cover or placing sensitive items in waterproof pouches inside the backpack.

The removable PE foam seat cushion serves two purposes: it provides padding against your back for comfortable carrying, and it can be taken out and used as a portable seat, which is handy for picnics, bus stops, or any time you need a clean, dry place to sit.

This classic 16L Kånken is not specifically designed for laptops, but its dimensions (H38 x W27 x D13cm) mean it can typically fit smaller laptops or tablets, usually up to 13 inches, depending on the device's exact measurements. For dedicated laptop protection, consider the Kånken Laptop 13" or 15" models.

To clean your Kånken, use a soft brush or sponge with lukewarm water and a mild, non-detergent soap. Gently scrub dirty areas and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or use harsh chemicals, as this can damage the fabric and hardware. Air dry completely away from direct sunlight.

Vinylon F is a synthetic fabric used by Fjällräven known for its exceptional durability and resistance to dirt and moisture. Unlike many synthetic materials, it doesn't require a coating to be water-resistant. Instead, its fibers swell when damp, making the weave tighter and more resistant to water penetration.

The Kånken is suitable for light day hikes or urban exploring where you need to carry essentials like water, snacks, and a light jacket. Its classic design and robust fabric make it a good companion for casual outdoor activities, but it's not designed for heavy-duty backpacking or technical trekking.

Ensure both shoulder straps are adjusted evenly and snugly to distribute weight across your back and shoulders. Avoid overloading the backpack; try to carry only essential items.

Spot clean the affected area using a soft, damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap. Gently rub the spot and then wipe with a clean damp cloth to remove soap residue. Allow to air dry completely.

While the Vinylon fabric is hardwearing and water-resistant, it is not fully waterproof. For heavy rain or prolonged exposure, consider using an internal waterproof dry bag for sensitive items or applying a fabric waterproofing spray suitable for synthetic materials (test on an inconspicuous area first).

Clean any dirt or debris from the zipper teeth using a small brush. If stiffness persists, apply a tiny amount of zipper lubricant (e.g., silicone spray or wax) to the teeth and gently work the zipper back and forth.
