Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
- Adjust Shoulder Straps: Upon first use, adjust the shoulder straps to fit comfortably. Pull the webbing straps through the buckles to lengthen or shorten them until the backpack rests snugly on your back, distributing weight evenly. The Kanken's straps are designed to be quite long to accommodate various body types, and excess strap can be neatly tucked away using the strap keepers.
- Familiarize with Pockets: Explore the main compartment, two side pockets, and front zipper pocket to plan how you'll organize your belongings.
- Seat Cushion Placement: Ensure the PE foam seat cushion is properly inserted into the interior back pocket. It acts as both a comfortable seat and padding against your back.
Compatibility
- Capacity: The 16L volume is designed for daily essentials, fitting standard A4 binders, textbooks, and lunch.
- Laptop: While not a dedicated laptop backpack, the main compartment can typically accommodate laptops up to 13 inches, though it's advisable to use a padded sleeve for protection.
- Age/Gender: Designed as a unisex backpack, suitable for adults and older children due to its adjustable straps and classic design.

- Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
- Drying: Hang the backpack to air dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Do not tumble dry.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Machine washing can damage the Vinylon fabric, straps, and hardware.
