The Kånken is made from Vinylon F fabric, which is highly water-resistant. It repels light rain and moisture effectively, but it is not fully waterproof and should not be submerged or exposed to heavy downpours for extended periods.

This classic Kånken model does not have a dedicated, padded laptop sleeve. A small laptop (e.g., 13 inches or smaller) might fit in the main compartment, possibly in the internal pocket intended for the seat pad, but it will not have specific padding. It is recommended to spot clean your Kånken. Use a soft brush or sponge with lukewarm water and a mild, non-abrasive soap. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or iron, as this can damage the fabric and the bag's structure.

The removable seat pad serves two main purposes: it provides cushioning for your back when inside the backpack, making it more comfortable to carry, and it can be taken out to use as a portable seat during breaks or outdoor activities.

Vinylon F is a synthetic fabric developed by Fjällräven. It is known for its durability, lightweight properties, and natural water resistance. Unlike many other synthetic fabrics, Vinylon F behaves more like a natural fiber, swelling when damp to make the weave denser and more resistant to moisture.

The Kånken features slim, adjustable shoulder straps. For daily use and light loads, they are generally comfortable. For very heavy loads or extended periods of wear, some users might prefer more padded straps, but for its intended purpose, they perform well.

Ensure the straps are fully extended and adjusted properly. The Kånken's straps are designed to be minimalist; for very heavy loads, distribute weight evenly and consider adjusting the bag's position on your back. The Vinylon F fabric may feel stiff initially but will soften over time.

This is normal for Vinylon F fabric. The material will soften and develop a unique character with regular use. The creases are part of its natural aging process.

Spot clean immediately with lukewarm water and a soft brush or sponge. Use a very mild soap if necessary, then rinse with clear water. Avoid harsh detergents or scrubbing vigorously, especially on the reflective logo.

Ensure no fabric is caught in the zipper. Gently pull the zipper back and forth a few times. If still sticking, apply a small amount of zipper lubricant (like beeswax or a silicone-based spray) to the teeth, being careful not to get it on the fabric.

The reflective coating on the logo can show signs of wear over time, especially with frequent handling or friction. This is normal wear and tear. Avoid harsh scrubbing directly on the logo when cleaning.
