Salomon XT-6 - Black - UK 5.5

The Quicklace™ system is a minimalist, strong lace for one-pull tightening. It allows for easy-on, easy-off, and quick, secure adjustments to your shoe's fit, with a lace pocket to store any excess.

The Salomon XT-6 features a Synthetic & Textile Upper, which is not inherently waterproof. While it offers some protection from splashes, it is not designed to be fully waterproof unless specified with a GORE-TEX or similar membrane (which is not noted in this product description).

These shoes are best suited for varied and challenging terrains, including loose, soft, rugged, and uneven surfaces, typical of ultra-distance trail races and demanding outdoor adventures. The Mud Contagrip® outsole provides excellent grip in these conditions.

While comfortable for all-day wear due to their cushioning, the Salomon XT-6 is a highly specialized trail running shoe. Its robust design and aggressive tread might be more than typically needed for purely urban or casual environments.

Gently brush off loose dirt when dry. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild soap, avoiding harsh chemicals. Remove insoles and air dry the shoes completely in a well-ventilated area, away from direct heat or sunlight.

The Agile Chassis System (ACS) is a technology integrated into the shoe's sole unit. It works in conjunction with the EVA midsole to provide stability, cushioning, and responsiveness, particularly on uneven terrain, giving you confidence and control.

To adjust, pull the Quicklace™ firmly to tighten, or press the release button on the lace lock and gently pull the laces apart to loosen. Ensure the lace is evenly distributed across your foot.

Ensure you are wearing appropriate socks for trail running. Verify the shoe size is correct; an improper fit is a common cause of discomfort. Allow for a break-in period for the shoe to adapt to your foot, especially on longer runs.

While the Mud Contagrip® is designed for excellent traction, extreme conditions (e.g., highly polished wet rock, deep ice) can still pose challenges. Ensure the outsole is clean of compacted mud or debris. If grip consistently falters, inspect the tread for signs of excessive wear.

Remove insoles after each use to allow for better air circulation and drying. You can wash insoles separately with mild soap and water. For the shoe interior, use an athletic shoe deodorizer or a mixture of baking soda and water to neutralize odors.
