Setup
Getting started with your Salomon XT-6 shoes is straightforward, largely due to the Quicklace™ system.
- Lacing: Loosen the Quicklace™ by pushing the stopper mechanism down and pulling the excess lace away from the shoe. Insert your foot.
- Tightening: Pull the end of the Quicklace™ cord to tighten the laces evenly across your foot. Ensure the tension is snug but comfortable, without creating pressure points.
- Securing: Once the desired tension is achieved, slide the stopper mechanism up towards the ankle to lock the laces in place.
- Stowing: Tuck the excess lace and stopper into the lace pocket located on the tongue of the shoe to prevent snagging.
Compatibility
The Salomon XT-6 is primarily designed for:
- Terrain: Technical trails, muddy paths, rocky terrain, steep ascents and descents.
- Activity: Trail running, ultra-distance racing, endurance hiking, fastpacking.
- Footwear Purpose: Providing protection, stability, and cushioning in demanding off-road conditions.
These shoes are optimized for performance on natural surfaces and may feel stiffer or less agile on urban or paved environments.
Care Instructions
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your XT-6 shoes.
- Cleaning: After each use, especially on muddy trails, knock off any excess dirt and mud. For the synthetic and textile upper, gently brush off dry dirt. For tougher stains, wipe with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild, non-detergent soap. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Always allow your shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct heat sources like radiators, heaters, or direct sunlight, as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure they are completely dry before storing to prevent odor and mildew.
- Insoles: The OrthoLite® insoles can be removed and hand-washed separately with mild soap and water if needed, then air dried.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Machine washing is not recommended as it can damage the shoe's structure, cushioning, and adhesives.
