Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Initial Setup
- Lacing: Ensure boots are laced securely but comfortably. Start with a firm pull at the base and progressively tighten upwards, allowing for ankle flexibility.
- Break-in Period: Leather boots often require a short break-in period. Wear them for shorter durations initially, gradually increasing wear time to allow the leather to conform to your feet and the cushioning to settle.
Compatibility
These boots are suitable for a wide range of work environments requiring safety footwear, including:
- Construction sites
- Warehouses and logistics facilities
- Manufacturing and factory settings
- Automotive and mechanical workshops
- General industrial applications
They are designed to meet EC Specific Edition safety standards, providing steel-toe protection against impact and compression. Always confirm that the boot's safety features meet the specific requirements of your workplace.
Care and Maintenance
To maximize the lifespan and appearance of your Skechers Workshire Safety Boots:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the leather upper regularly with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. For tougher grime, use a specialized leather cleaner according to product instructions.
- Conditioning: Apply a quality leather conditioner every few months, or more frequently if boots are exposed to harsh conditions, to prevent drying and cracking. This helps maintain the leather's suppleness.
- Drying: If boots become wet, allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, which can damage the leather.
- Outsole Inspection: Regularly inspect the oil-resistant rubber outsole for embedded debris or excessive wear. Clean the treads to maintain optimal traction. Replace boots if the outsole is significantly worn, as this can compromise safety.
- Insole Care: The Memory Foam insole is removable. You can remove it periodically to air it out or replace it if it becomes excessively worn or loses cushioning.
