Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure boots are laced securely but not overly tight. Use a lacing pattern that allows for easy adjustment throughout the day. A snug fit around the ankle provides support, while the Relaxed Fit® ensures ample toe room.
- Break-in Period: Like all quality work boots, a short break-in period may be beneficial. Wear them for shorter durations initially to allow the leather to conform to your foot's shape and to ensure maximum comfort.
Compatibility
These boots are compatible with a wide range of industrial and construction work environments that require steel toe protection and slip-resistant footwear. They are designed for adult males requiring a UK size 9 boot. While the brown leather offers a classic look, consider matching it with appropriate work attire. Always check your workplace's specific safety requirements to ensure these boots meet all necessary standards.
Care
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe down the full grain leather upper with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. For tougher grime, use a specialized leather cleaner, following the product's instructions. Avoid harsh chemicals that can dry out or damage the leather.
- Conditioning: To maintain the leather's suppleness and prevent cracking, apply a quality leather conditioner every few months, or more frequently if exposed to harsh conditions. This will also help restore its natural sheen.
- Drying: If the boots become wet, allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, as this can cause the leather to stiffen and crack.
- Insole Care: The Memory Foam insoles are removable. Periodically take them out to air dry and clean them with a mild soap and water solution if needed. Ensure they are completely dry before reinserting to prevent odor or mildew.
- Outsole Check: Regularly inspect the oil-resistant rubber outsole for embedded debris or excessive wear, which could affect traction.
