FAQs

Is Vintro Matt Emulsion suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes, its durable and breathable properties make it suitable for many interior rooms, though it should not be applied in areas subject to direct, constant water exposure.

Do I need to sand my walls before painting?

It is recommended to lightly sand and clean existing painted surfaces to provide 'tooth' for the new paint, which improves adhesion.

Is this paint safe for furniture that children will touch?

Yes, Vintro Matt Emulsion is completely child-safe once fully cured, making it perfect for nursery walls and furniture.

Can I use this on metal radiators?

Yes, this paint is designed to be used on metalwork; however, ensure the radiator is cold before application and remains off until the paint is fully cured.

How do I clean my brushes after use?

Since this is a water-based paint, you can easily clean your brushes and rollers with warm, soapy water.

How many coats should I apply?

Two coats are usually sufficient to achieve a flawless, opaque finish, though porous surfaces may require a base coat or primer first.

Troubleshooting

Streaky or uneven finish

Ensure the surface is properly primed and use a high-quality roller or brush. Avoid over-brushing the paint once it begins to set.

Paint peeling or bubbling

This is often caused by moisture or contaminants on the substrate. Strip the affected area, sand smooth, clean thoroughly, and reapply.

Color variation between coats

Ensure the paint is stirred continuously during application. If using multiple cans, box them together by pouring into a larger container to ensure color consistency.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Exceptionally rich color depth
Environmentally friendly, water-based formula
Suitable for use in nurseries due to child-safe ingredients
Highly durable and wipeable finish
Fast drying and recoating times

Cons

Limited to interior applications
Matte finish requires smooth surface preparation to avoid highlighting wall imperfections
Requires careful application to ensure consistent coverage across different materials

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the best results, start by ensuring the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust or grease. If painting over raw wood or metal, apply a suitable primer first to maximize adhesion. Stir the paint thoroughly before use to ensure the pigment is evenly distributed.

Apply with a high-quality synthetic brush or a short-pile roller for the best finish. While the paint is touch-dry in one hour, avoid scrubbing the surface for at least 72 hours to allow the paint to fully cure. For maintenance, a gentle wipe with a soft, damp cloth is sufficient to remove everyday scuffs or fingerprints without damaging the matte appearance.
