Product Information

Full details

Vintro Paint Citron Matt Emulsion is designed for homeowners and DIY enthusiasts looking to achieve a classic, highly durable matt finish on interior walls, ceilings, woodwork, and metalwork. Its standout benefit is a pigment-rich, depth-heavy color profile that remains completely child-safe and eco-friendly, though users should note that as a matt finish, it absorbs more light and lacks the reflective sheen of glossy alternatives.

FAQs

Is Vintro Matt Emulsion safe to use in a child's bedroom?

Yes, this paint is water-based and completely child-safe, making it an excellent choice for nurseries and children's rooms.

How long do I need to wait between coats?

You should wait at least two hours before applying a second coat for the best results.

Can I use this on radiators?

While it is suitable for many metal surfaces, it is generally recommended to use specialized heat-resistant paint on radiators.

Is this paint washable?

It is highly durable and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, though it is not intended for heavy-duty scrubbing.

Does it require a primer?

For previously painted, sound surfaces, a primer is usually not necessary, but porous or bare surfaces should be primed first.

Troubleshooting

Paint appears patchy or streaky.

Ensure the surface is properly primed and apply a second coat after the recommended two-hour waiting period.

Difficulty cleaning marks from the wall.

Ensure you are using a soft, clean, damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing too hard, as excessive pressure can burnish a matt finish.

Paint not sticking to metal surfaces.

Verify that the metal surface has been properly cleaned and lightly sanded to provide a "key" for the paint to grip.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Durable finish suitable for high-traffic areas
Eco-friendly and water-based composition
Excellent coverage and depth of color
Fast drying and recoat times
Safe for use around children and in nurseries

Cons

Matt finish can show dust and dirt more easily than gloss
Minimal light reflection may make smaller rooms feel darker
Requires proper surface preparation for metal and wood

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Before starting, ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust or grease. For woodwork and metal, light sanding is recommended to improve adhesion. Apply the paint at room temperature and avoid extreme humidity. When cleaning, use only a soft, damp cloth to wipe the surface; avoid abrasive chemicals or scouring pads, as these may damage the matt finish. Store the tin in a cool, frost-free location with the lid tightly sealed to prevent the water-based formula from drying out.
