The Farrow & Ball Dead Flat Paint in Mouses Back is an ideal solution for homeowners and interior designers seeking a high-end, vintage aesthetic for walls, woodwork, and metal surfaces. This 5L multi-surface paint offers a sophisticated, ultra-flat finish that is surprisingly durable and scuff-resistant, making it perfect for high-traffic areas like hallways and living rooms; however, users should be aware that the green undertones can shift significantly depending on the natural lighting of the room.

Yes, this paint is suitable for interior metal, including radiators, provided they are primed with a suitable metal primer first.
Yes, the Dead Flat finish is extremely matte, designed to absorb light and create a soft, vintage look rather than reflecting it.
Generally, 5L covers approximately 60-70 square meters per coat, depending on the porosity of the surface.
While the paint has excellent coverage, we always recommend using a dedicated Farrow & Ball primer/undercoat for the best finish and durability.
It is based on an advanced alkyd resin, which provides the durability of traditional oil-based paints with modern application and environmental benefits.
Ensure you are using a high-quality synthetic brush and avoid over-working the paint. Apply in thin, even coats.
Check your room lighting. Mouses Back is sensitive to light; test a small area on your wall to see how it performs in both morning and evening light.
This is usually caused by inadequate surface preparation. Ensure the substrate was primed correctly and free of oil, grease, or dust before painting.
Before application, ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose paint or dust. For wood and metal, use an appropriate primer to ensure the best adhesion of the alkyd formula. Stir the paint thoroughly before and during use to ensure the pigment is evenly distributed throughout the 5L container. Apply using high-quality synthetic brushes or short-pile rollers for the smoothest finish. Once applied, allow the paint to cure fully; while it will be touch-dry quickly, the full scuff-resistant properties develop as the paint cures over several days. For ongoing care, simply wipe surfaces with a microfiber cloth and a mild soap solution. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive sponges that may damage the delicate flat finish.
