Setup, Compatibility & Care
Preparation: Casein Distemper requires surfaces to be clean, dry, and sound. For best adhesion, prime bare plaster with one coat of Farrow & Ball Wall & Ceiling Primer & Undercoat, diluted slightly with water. Previously painted surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned and lightly abraded. Ensure all surfaces are free from dust, grease, and flaking paint.
Application: Stir the paint thoroughly before and during use. Apply with a soft brush or roller in a consistent pattern. Distemper is typically applied in two coats, allowing adequate drying time between each. For the best finish, avoid over-brushing.
Compatibility: This Casein Distemper is designed for interior use on walls and ceilings. It is not recommended for high-moisture areas like bathrooms or kitchens unless properly ventilated and sealed, or for woodwork and metal. It is designed to be used with Farrow & Ball primers and undercoats for optimal performance. Do not mix with other types of paint.
Care: To clean surfaces painted with Casein Distemper, use a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners or excessive scrubbing, as this can damage the delicate matte finish. For stubborn marks, a very mild soap solution can be used sparingly, followed by a clean damp cloth.
